The Chamber has today congratulated the Brisbane Water Secondary College after the successful launch of the Futures Academy – High Performance Athlete Program on Friday morning.
“This program is truly innovative as it will target, support and promote high-potential students in sport and academics”, said Peniunsula Chamber President Matthew Wales.
“It’s a credit to the Secondary College and its collaboration with the Brisbane Water Learning Community”.
“The local business community is proud to be involved with the College with the view to providing support and sponsorship from local businesses”, said Matthew Wales.
“We should remember that the Brisbane Water Learning Community has a combined enrolment figure of over 4,000 students across the five Peninsula and Empire Bay public schools together with the Brisbane Water Secondary College which provides an incredibly rich talent pool of young children and teenagers”.
“The program looks to support the high potential and gifted students within the local learning community”, said Matthew Wales.
“We should not forget that programs like the Futures Academy will nurture and promote local students empowering them to reach their full potential both through their chosen sport and academic studies”.
“This initiative is one of several programs that the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is excited to be involved in with the Secondary College and the wider Brisbane Water Learning Community in the hope that many of these young aspiring students return to our local business community and become successful active business leaders”, said Matthew Wales.
