MEDIA RELEASE 29.07.2019 - CHAMBER BACKS COUNCIL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT PROGRAM

The Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has today backed Central Coast Council’s Regional Business Development Support Program with a major presentation to be held on the 7th August at the Boathouse Restaurant at Koolewong.

 

“The Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will be hosting senior Council officers at the presentation on the 7th August where the Business Development Support Program will be outlined to leading businesses”, said Peninsula Chamber President Matthew Wales.

 

“Council will also be outlining its Tourism Strategy for the Central Coast and how this will impact of the Peninsula”.

 

“This is a major turning point for our local business community where for the first time in many years, Central Coast Council is taking a pro-active role in boosting business and tourism opportunities and focusing on our major centres”, said Matthew Wales.

 

“Particular focus will be on our major centres including Woy Woy where Council, in partnership with the Peninsula Chamber, will be looking at programs to re-activate the town centre”.

 

“This will include the staging of events and activating street frontages to attract more people into the retail centre”, said Matthew Wales.

 

“The program will look at ways of increasing awareness of our retail centres and maximising local business offerings and experiences”.

 

“The aim is to increase foot traffic, patronage and spending in each Peninsula retail centres”, said Matthew Wales.

 

“The Council presentation to leading businesses on the 7th August will be one of the first steps in ensuring that Council and the business community coordinate their efforts”.

 

“We encourage businesses to attend so that they can be brought up-to-date on these new initiatives”, said Matthew Wales.
